I special ordered a 2025 Silverado 1500. Prior to the Silverado arriving at Peterson Chevrolet, I told several people at Peterson Chevrolet not to drill holes to mount their Peterson rear mud flaps. They went ahead and put mud flaps on my new Silverado. I also told salesman Josh Wiley that I do not want tire shine applied to the tires. They went ahead and did that.

Service issue on a 2002 Silverado 2500HD. It is an infrequent but significant problem. Unfortunately Grant could not find the cause HOWEVER he was very upfront and accommodating in his diagnostics. At least it confirmed to me that the issue isn't an obvious and hopefully an ongoing problem. I was not charged for the time he evaluated to vehicle.

Gary Laming has been my salesman for many, many years. He knows what I want, I never have to make any choices and he calls me when it is ready to pickup and do the necessary paperwork. He has never failed. This time, the service department wanted a fee to switch the running boards that he did not find to be acceptable and so he took it to his garage and did it himself. That is customer service and beyond. He goes the extra mile to be sure that I am set up with all the electronics in my new pickup and that everything is working. I appreciated the person who did the paper work offering me an option for a lifetime oil change program. The entire paperwork process was seamless. Purchasing a new vehicle is not an enjoyable experience for me and the sooner I can get in and out the happier I am. Gary and the staff have done a wonderful job. I enjoy recommending friends and relatives to Peterson because of the excellent care that I have received.

I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado HD2500 that had developed an unfrequent engine shutdown. A brief evaluation could not determine the cause (no charge from Grant in the service department). Unfortunately it reoccured less than one week before a scheduled music camp, to which I would be pulling my trailer. The online scheduling put me out two weeks. Grant was able to get me in and after 2.5 days of work, able to get me out of the door and on the road to the camp the same afternoon that I had to leave. And the problem was solved! My 6.2l silverado had lifter failure that also required a new cam shaft. I was promptly set up with a comparable rental and the truck was repaired quickly. My concern is with the engine recall, 0w-20 oil was replaced when the heavier 0w-40 would be the safe route to take. With a possible engine replacement in the very near future, I find it wasteful this work was done without the recall inspection being done first.

I waited 6 hours. I never got a confirmation text or call that my vehicle was ready. Shane was very unresponsive. I was informed and oil change was done, but it wasn't listed as a service on the paper I signed. Windshield wiper fluid wasn't filled either. Overall, everything about the experience was worse than previous experiences I had there. I got a few texts saying, "reach out to me for any questions," and when I did, I never got a response back. Shane was my advisor. When I made the appointment, the lady on the phone yelled at me for asking if I could do a walk-in. I also didn't get informed about why the check-engine light turned on, and I still haven't gotten confirmation that an oil change was conducted. I would give 0 stars if I could. The only reason I put two stars instead of 1 is because Debbie was kind.

I wanted to wait until my interaction with your service department was completely finished before I formulated an opinion on my experience but I’ll go ahead and give an update at this point. I know your service departments are busy and I understand why I had to wait two weeks for the repair. But then after I paid and picked up the car, a Service Warning light immediately came on and I had to give the car keys right back because something wasn’t completed properly all the way. Which is fine, I understand that hybrid cars are more sensitive and complicated. But I would feel better about my experience as a whole at this point, if I knew my vehicle was getting an expedited first priority treatment to get it right back to me as soon as possible.

After returning from a week to BOI, I had two dead truck batteries on my 2020 Chevy HD Silverado. After getting a jump (several), I went directly to Peterson GM in Meridian at 3pm Monday, and their gracious staff took me right in! 2.5 hours later my tuck was ready for pickup, batteries fully charged and check-engine light extinguished! I’m truly amazed they took me in at that time of day for service without an appt! The entire staff were very friendly, helpful and professional, and needless to say, they were all very busy. Just a great group in the service in the department. Thank you all.

Your yelp reviews and word of mouth reflect the same service I received, unfortunately. Poor. Michael was our advisor. Oh, Michael. I had an appointment on 7/8/25 at 8:30 AM for a sensor indicating that I had a “safety restraint issue” on my dashboard. I was told at 1 PM on 7/8 that Evan, our technician, was “hoping to have an answer by end of day the following day.” I was hoping, too. But hopes and dreams are just that over at Peterson Chevrolet. When I asked about a loaner vehicle, I was told none were available for me. :( A car lot with no cars! But wait! I could rent a vehicle, AT A COST to me. $115 per day for a Yukon, or $75 a day for a CT4. What a bargain! Why a loaner vehicle was not given to me at NO cost, is just bad customer service and ridiculous in my opinion. I was told by Michael that “we usually have loaners available, but we don’t at this time.” So I was left without a vehicle. (I called Peterson BMW, where I originally puchased my Tahoe and spoke to Selver, who is wonderful by the way, go there, not here) and discussed my disappointment and concerns with him. He gave me John, the manager at Peterson Chevrolet’s number to call. I called and left a voicemail with him. (I’ll note I still, to date: 7/24/2025) have yet to receive any return call). When I finally picked up my car at 5 PM on 7/9/2025, after an entire different technician other than Evan had to look into my issue, it turned out to be a dirty sensor. I was then told by Michael, AT PICK UP, that the zipper of my driver seat cover was broken. He suggested that perhaps it was broken before - by BMW? (it was not). Please note: I was not informed of this prior, at any given time, over the multiple times we spoke via text message, that this incident occurred with my seat cover. It was not until pick up, that I was told and saw the damage to my seat cover. It was open and exposed on the right size, the zipper broken. I was then told by Michael that he would have to get in touch with an upholstery company to get it fixed. It would be covered by them, of course, but it would take some time to get it fixed. To say I was disappointed by the entire experience would be the understatement of the century. The next morning, 7/10/2025, I received a text message from Michael stating that he needed pictures of my seat back cover to send to the upholstery company. Why were pictures not taken prior to vehicle leaving the lot? I expressed this to Michael, but did as I was told because I’m a good soldier. I sent the pictures to Michael and waited. What Michael sent back next was truly where everything else continued to go from bad, to worse. McDowells, the upholstery company, would be able to have my seat cover done, however it would look different than the rest of my seat covers. By golly, this is unacceptable. My vehicle was left in your care, and therefore should be returned, in its original form, back to me as it was left. When I explained this, I was met with… you guessed it! More frustration. The managers were unwilling to expedite the original, manufacturers seat cover, and I would be left with my broken seat cover for 14 days. An exposed, open, driver seat back, with wires, sensors, and important mechanical features that need to be covered and protected to optimize the features which I paid for in my 2021 Z71 $74,000 Tahoe. Luckily, my husband, Justin, advocated for our customer care. Michael forwarded our concerns to David who was able to, after some push back, decided to expedite my seat cover. Why the push back? We’ll never know. The original, manufacturers seat cover, was finally installed on Wednesday, 7/16/2025. A mere 8 full days after I took my car in for a dashboard sensor. I brought my car into the dealership at 8 AM on 7/16/2025. David called me at 12:15 PM to inform me about my tires needing to be replaced, and somehow thought I would give him any business. He said he “needed to get with Michael to know what went wrong.” I would assume, he would have met with his advisors prior to getting on the phone with a customer before trying to upsell anything. But, clearly we run our businesses very differently. I told David we had an appointment elsewhere for those because I had zero desire to ever give Peterson Chevrolet any business again based on how this entire experience went. I wished his next clients a better experience in the future.

I have a coupon book for free “lube, oil and filter change”. Included with this coupon is “fluid top off, exterior wash and interior vacuum”. I see nothing on the receipt that shows that they added wind shield fluid and my vehicle did not get the exterior wash or interior vacuum. I called and left a message with Shane regarding this and never got a call back. Also, they apparently fixed my Bluetooth and it still doesn’t work. I am very disappointed!!

When I scheduled my appointment I was told it would take 4 hours, my vehicle was there 8 hours and 45 minutes. I never got any updates until I called at 3:00 to find out it was still being worked on. My service advisor lacked any customer service training and seemed to be new at this position. The only highlight of the entire day was a nice young man named Gavin. He saw me sitting outside and asked if I needed any water or anything else. When I told him I just wanted my vehicle done, he found out the update, brought me water and used my name to address me. He knows customer service. I will not be using this dealership for future service.

I purchased my vehicle on 2017. I’ve slowly and surely seeing a decrease in customer service. After making an appointment, I received automated text messages that reminded me of that appointment but no further communication about what to expect. Next, I pull into the garage and no one bothers to make eye contact or acknowledge me. I remember a time when a technician would hurry to your car greet you and ask you your name. I got out of my car and engaged with the outside technicians who informed me to go inside and talk to Shane. Shane was not at his desk and after waiting several minutes, I asked Michael to assist and he was very nice. However, he explained to me that to run a simple diagnostic would be several hours. He also said that someone should’ve called and explained the process to me, but this did not happen. The shuttle service home was quick and the driver was very kind. After several hours of not hearing anything, I text Shane who informed me my car was likely to be done at 4 PM. I sent a follow up text and he explained the repair briefly. I then asked to confirm what time the car would be done and received no response. I then sent a second text asking if the car was done and received no response. Since it was 530, I was able to get a ride back to the dealership, Shane was once again nowhere to be found. The male who has a desk in front of him was busy doing other things, but since no one was acknowledging my presence, I once again engaged with someone to see if they could assist me. He checked me out and told me my car was just out to the left. After about 10 minutes of not being able to find my car I came back and he did assist in locating my car which was apparently parked toward the back of the parking lot. Overall, I definitely get the impression that the culture at Chevy Peterson is not great. Employees don’t care. Employees are overworked. Which I get it, Ada county has grown substantially and it’s tough. But if you don’t get back to the roots of good customer service then how do you expect your business to thrive. I drive a 2017 traverse, I’m ready to upgrade. No one has even engaged me in that conversation and you have missed a substantial opportunity to sell me a new car. Even when I earlier tried to make an appointment with Mandie and inquired about getting an estimate for my vehicle’s trade-in value, she did not even acknowledge that comment. To me that shouts there’s a disconnect in your business and there’s no incentive for your technicians who help with maintenance to be engaged in keeping customers coming back to your business. RE: Service reservation for my 2016 Buick Enclave EX, driver-side airbag recall When: 8:30 AM reservation (made online), Saturday, August 16, 2025 Once my vehicle was finally in the service bay, all went well. The repair was completed within the estimated two-hour timeframe. Rather than wait in the customer area, which looked reasonably comfortable, I took a walk to a nearby mall, as the weather was nice. MAIN PAIN: The Boise Peterson Chevy Buick dealership service department loses a star for the chaos of a Saturday morning. Apparently, LOFs on Saturdays are first-come, first-served, and there is a mad rush to line up at the service department before it opens at 8:30. I was there for an 8:30 recall repair, but I had to wait in my car in a long line of LOF walk-in customers who got there before me. Of course, initially, I had no idea what was going on. The crowd of LOF walk-ins ahead of me meant my car wasn't taken back at my 8:30 AM reservation time; rather, it was around 9:00-9:15 AM. Essentially, I waited in my car in the line until an advisor finally walked up. Even then, the advisor assumed I was there for an LOF, and they informed me they'd have my car for 6 or 7 hours. I was initially a bit shocked. I had marked myself as a waiter on the reservation, and I researched the airbag recall, which normally takes a fraction of that time. I quickly pointed out that I had a reservation for a repair and didn't need an LOF. The advisor (I didn't catch their name) said something to the effect of, "Oh, that changes everything," and then fast-tracked me to the reservation desk. BOTTOM LINE: Peterson may need a better way to flag or separate customers with reservations from walk-in LOFs, at least on Saturday mornings. I was somewhat blindsided here, but I'm a calm, chill person. If this had been my wife or adult kids thrown alone into this mix, it might have been stressful for them. And obviously, customers expect the business will be ready for them at the appointed time, especially for the first reservation of the day. IMPORTANT NOTE: My advisor, Michael Holmes, was excellent. He texted me the day before to ask for my VIN, so he could ensure the part would be on hand for my repair. The day of the reservation, I first met him when I was brought to the service desk, and he was friendly, energetic, and focused. Since I planned to go on a long walk, I asked him to text me 20-30 minutes before the work was complete, which he did. I would be glad to have him as my advisor in the future.

I was not very impressed with the service level at Peterson Chevy. There were probably 5 staff people in the service area while I was there, and only one of them appeared to be helping customers. The line filled up and the other people around did not make much of an effort to help move things along. More importantly, when they reported that my truck was finished, I noticed that there was a comment about "Items that need immediate attention" that included a broken CV joint, yet the service rep said nothing about this until I asked. She might have been overwhelmed because she was the only person in the service area doing anything. Next, I'm not impressed that I have a broken CV joint on a truck that is less than 1 year old, even if this will be covered by the warranty. Finally, something is wrong with my new truck because it burned an excessive amount of DEF fluid and the oil was low, yet the truck didn't inform me that the oil was low. This is quite upsetting because I just bought the truck from Peterson Chevrolet a few months ago. I've used it for towing a trailer, but I can't imagine that the truck burned up that much oil in just a few months with only 2 or three camping trips. I intend to watch the oil usage closely and get the truck in for a diagnostic test soon. I guess the thing that I am bothered most about is that I informed the service gal about this issue and really didn't get much of an explanation about it. That is in part my fault, but I really expected more from Peterson as I have had very good service at Peterson Toyota for years. I am disapointed.

I have warranty work to be done on my C8 Corvette. On my first visit, the service guy I talked didn't know what to do and wouldn't even look at it. He sat and read the warranty, acted like I was trying to scam him, and told me it probably wasn't covered. I asked him to at least submit it. No. He took my name and said he'd call me. It was obvious he wouldn't. With no call over a day later, I went back. Another service guy found Adam for me. Adam brought out a lady to take photos and sent them to GM. She and Adam both said it was bad and predicted it would be approved, but they had to ask. Approved a few minutes later. Excellent end result after a rocky start. So the first guy wouldn't even look at it? Do better.

First of all, I'm very happy with the service received for the oil/filter change and tire rotation. While there, I asked for the drivers side mirror to be inspected since it was rattling every time while driving over a bump, wash board dirt road, etc. I was told there was nothing wrong with it and that the movement was normal. I have driven multiple GM vehicles over 35+ years and this does not represent the normal high quality, that I have grown accustomed to. Especially, not in a vehicle that only has 11K miles on it!

Since I bought a truck there back in July 2025, it has been a terrible experience and in the shop ever since. There is no customer service, follow ups all had to come from me reaching out. Andrew tried to do what was right and at least clean it for me, being I got it back dirty. No new car smell at all and so very disappointing. It was not cleaned very well and he even said he had to have them clean it twice. You are not holding up the standards of your brand. I don't feel confident to refer anyone to get a Chevy. My family will not purchase anymore Chevy's.

Service transmission warning came on and the car left me stranded at an intersection. Charged $250 as a "diagnosis fee" that did not show the root cause of a bad 12V battery (dealership reported "no hardware problems"), which was later diagnosed and repaired by myself. Also, charged $220 for firmware updates, which presumably addressed software errors in programs written by Chevy.

I brought my car (2021 Bolt EV) in for service ("reduced propulsion" error). After nearly two months it was fixed. Turns out to have been a faulty coolant pump. Two months! No update to let me know how long it was going to take. No progress reports. Nothing. I have come to expect repairs on EVs to take longer than ICE cars. But this is absurd and unacceptable. It's the third time I have brought this car in for the "reduced propulsion" error and I'm seriously thinking of selling it (while it is functional) and buying a Tesla. Horrible product quality and horrible service. Otherwise, the dealership has been fine. No other complaints.

Peterson's always does a good job with servicing my vehicle. My complaint is the appointment situation. If you make an appointment, wouldn't you expect to get in on that time or close to it? I made three attempts on three different days. Each time I was told it would be at least a 3-4 hour wait. One appointment was made at 8:30 am because I was told I would have a better chance not waiting, even though an appointment was made! Needless to say, with an 8:30am appointment, I was there over 21/2 hours! This is ridiculous. Especially if you are a good customer and have purchased the lifetime service at the time you purchase the vehicle! Obviously, over booking and walk-ins are happening resulting in bumping people out with appointments. This problem that needs addressed. This happens regularly.

A $6,800 repair, 2 1/2 weeks without our truck (witch is understandable considering the repair) however a week or so after the repair oil started to leak, back it goes for 10 days because of defective parts, and guess what, a short time later and there's another problem same repair. So far there has been no offer of fuel reimbursement, a loaner vehicle, nothing. The ball should not drop in our lap, this is the responsibility of the dealership. This is inexcusable! About a year ago we had the transmission worked on and again a defective part. We take our vehicles to the dealer because we believe that we can trust them.

Booked an online appointment for Monday 12/1 at 9:30AM. My Tahoe had been making a squealing sound coming from the front of the engine. It sounded like a pulley or tensioner. On the Saturday 11/29, before our appointment, my wife was driving the car and the squealing got really bad. The car shook and shut off on her. Still to me, with my little bit of mechanical knowledge, this tracks with a pulley going out. I have it towed in to your dealership that day. On Monday around 10AM , I get a text from David the service advisor telling me they would try and get to my car, but they were closing early for a company event. On Tuesday I get a text with a repair estimate. The resolution to my main complaint was said to be throttle body issue. This was a surprise to me as the car had no symptoms of a throttle body issue. Then in the vehicle inspection portion of the estimate, I see as a third item that the technician noted the water pump was leaking. After many missed calls between David and I. I finally speak with him around 3:30PM on Tuesday. He tells me there is a check engine light on, the car is rough idling and that even if the water pump was fixed the car would still rough idle and not replacing the throttle body could lead to worse issues. I approve the water pump replacement and assure him that if the vehicle still rough idles after that I would have the throttle body replaced. The water pump is replaced and in my years of being in the car industry I’ve always recommended the thermostat be replaced as a preventative measure since the coolant is being drained anyways. David disagrees and says the thermostat is working fine. Well yeah it always works fine… until it doesn’t! Come on that is an easy upsell and easy way to add more money to the ticket. Fast forward to me picking up the car and David is at lunch. I am helped by the female service advisor in front of his desk. I have her come to the car with me so I can check for the rough idle. Well not only is the car not squealing, it’s also not rough idling and there is no check engine light on. The advisor plugs in the OBD 2 reader and we go to her desk. There is one historical code for an alternator issue and that is all she sees. I’m so annoyed by my experience I didnt even bring up the thermostat. I’m very disappointed. I had a pleasant experience when we brought my wife’s Tahoe in last time. I have two friends that work in the sales department, so I have every reason to go to the dealership. However I’m really thinking about posting my experience on Google reviews and social media. I’m a local business owner with a decent following of about 5k on my social media accounts. Shane did an excellent job coordinating the work on my 2017 Corvette. The work was performed timely and the entire experience, from my initial contact with the Accessories Department to the shuttle ride back to work, was outstanding. It is rare to find such excellence at an automotive dealer, so I will give credit where credit is due. A+ job Peterson Chevrolet!

Most of the service techs are great but after my hubby died last year I needed to get a replacement key for my chevy tahoe. I was expecting to pay a little over $300.00 but..... noone told me about the programming charge. So when I go to get my car the bill was over $500.00. Thank goodness I had my car in the week before for an oil change and had additional work done and had a 20% off coupon. So I asked your parts dept if I could have that on my key replacement even though I forgot to ask when my car was in the shop. He said yes. That at least tooki $100.00 off my bill. Now I know how this works but again being told ahead of time would have been nice to know. I had a great visit with service tech Deb. I do appreciate the work your guys do for me. Happy New Year!

My truck had its check engine light on due to some glow plugs needing replaced which was covered by the warranty. I had my fiancee take my truck in as I would be at work. Before leaving the truck at the dealership she made the comment that she would like the truck window looked at. I heard her on the phone tell the service tech that the seal in the window is not correct and would like it fixed. The paper work he then had her sign for $205 was for inspecting the window seal, which she had already told him that it was not in proper working function. After receiving the news since the dealership called me to confirm I wanted the window fixed I was upset that they took advantage of my fiancee when giving her the paperwork.
